Judy Hale

Owner

Judy is a second-generation sewist, who’s mom handed down many of her own self-taught sewing skills. Much like her mother, Judy is a lifelong learner, who is always trying to push herself to learn as much as possible, whenever possible!

Her sewing and patternmaking skills lead her to establish Patterns for Pirates (often referred to as P4P), a sewing pattern company focused mainly on apparel sewing patterns. After opening in 2014, P4P has grown into a large sewing community full of sewists in every skill level and is backed by its extensive PDF pattern lineup.

It was only natural that Judy’s love of sewing and fabrics turned into also opening Anchor Fabrics in the fall of 2022.  Her mission is to offer high quality fabrics at low prices, and to spread her textile love to as many people as possible!

Katy McKinley

Customer Service Specialist

Katy never stood a chance to be anything but a Maker, as she’s been surrounded by them her whole life. Her father is an engineer, builder-of-all-things, tech-enthusiast and photographer. Her mother is a baker, quilter, crafter and all-around creative genius. It was impossible to become anything but become a mixture of those two.

Katy’s career path has taken her on many new adventures, but the road always leads back to one focused around creating. She opened an Etsy store in 2010, just after learning how to crochet via YouTube videos and a desire to make cute hats for her newborn son. Soon after came her blog, with the blog came diving deeper into apparel sewing, and apparel sewing lead her to Patterns for Pirates. She joined the P4P team officially in 2015 and has loved every minute of it.

She’s beyond thrilled to continue the adventure as part of the Anchor Fabrics team, sharing her enthusiasm for fabric with the sewing community even more!
